Who's Next? Sai

With crazy thick hair and a killer rock star attitude, Sai from Models 1 is definitely one to watch. And the with a name like Sai and eyes like that, it doesn't get much better.

The new Zuzanna

Zuzanna Krzatala who has gone from selling birth control products on TV to being signed with Supreme and shot by Paul Rowland. This stunner is rumoured to be an option for Prada's next opening slot and i would be shocked if she didn't land it. Zuzanna flew under the radar in London despite appearing in Christopher Kane.
The secret of Zuzanna was not missed by all however, as Paul Rowland plucked her from the show and took her to new york to be re-launched. Launched she was, into stardom. Her Polaroids were expertly dispersed to all of the people who needed to know about this prismatic new face, and they freaked. Zuzanna is sure to be a big hit come Fall 2008. With all these new must-have girls, is there even room for the old ones?

Loving Lovisa

Young Lovisa Ingman is one of the mysterious Russel Marsh Prada exclusives for Spring 2008. We only her saw her once that season, on the Prada runway, but her quirky looks left a lasting impression.
Despite disappearing after that show, Lovisa has been optioned and has landed some of the most major editorials in the market.
Lovisa was chosen as one of the top ten newcomers for sprig 2008 and she is sure to be a necessity for the fall 2008 show season. Keep watch for Lovisa, you'll be seeing much more of her.

Who's Next? Sarike

Looking like she's stepped out of lord of the rings, elfin Sarike caught my eye about a year ago.
Lets hope that her modeling career isn't limited to these two fantastic shots.

Australia's Abbey Lee

You've heard it on COACD, then you heard it on, finally you're hearing it here, Abbey Lee Kershaw is the cat's pajamas.
This Australian may be the only winner of a covergirl contest to ever conquer the high fashion modeling industry. You thought Catherine was the biggest thing out of oz, take a look at Abbey Lee.
Abbey has been highly successful in Australia for nearly the past 4 years and now, since moving to NY in march and signing with Next, Abbey has been optioned for all of the best editorials and campaigns.
Abbey just wrapped up shooting the pre-fall D&G campaign with Mario Testino, but don't worry, he couldn't afford getting her exclusively.
Simply put, come fall 2008, all you will see is Abbey Lee.

The buzz about Bernier

At 15 years old, the last thing you'd expect me to call Pamela Bernier is a veteran. But with over 2 years of modeling experience under her belt, Pamela is already more experienced than many others in her industry.
Pamela has been Canada's darling for those 2 years, appearing in a near monthly rotation in every major fashion mag in the great white north. This has made Pamela's book exquisite and New York has taken notice.
Pamela is signed with Marilyn and the options are seriously piling up. Pamela is still in school right now and that is the only thing keeping her from the big leagues. Pamela's elegance is so strong it is hard to believe she just had her fifteenth birthday. This will not be the last you see of Pamela, lets just hope she remembers where she came from.

Who's Next? Lucia

All of those who watched Petra Nemcova's "a model life", don't be ashamed, you are not alone. Brilliant Brazilian Lucia is one of the finalists and is now signed with Elite NY.
This ever gracious and simply stunning girl is one to watch, she has already had huge success in Asia and will hopefully see the same success in the high fashion industry. Keep an eye out for her, we'll be seeing her soon.

Inspiring Iris

German bombshell Iris Strubegger has returned on the scene. After walking the Calvin Klein runway in 2003 and landing a major Armani ad campaign, Iris appeared in I-D, Another and The Face. That was then, and this is now.
Iris is now signed with Supreme in NY and is probably the hottest new commodity in the modeling scene. She was hand chosen by casting agent superstar Russell Marsh to appear in "Arrivals" a story in the current POP about the newest, freshest faces.
Iris Walked a singular show in Paris last season which ended up being her only show for all of Spring 2008. That show was Dries Van Noten (Below), Which she opened. Iris could be seen this week as well, in NYC at the Valentino Pre-Fall presentation. You don't have to know much to know that this girl, or women some could say, has the recipe for success. Iris has already been optioned for every major editorial on he market right now, but has shot only the best. It is Paul Rowland's managing and imaging genius that can keep this seasoned veteran interesting. This intense exclusivity makes her most wanted for the Fall 2008 season which, yes, is creeping closer and closer. Next season, Iris will be on everyone's most wanted list, mark my words.

IMG's Parisian Perfection

IMG Paris has been leading the industry in model development for quite some time now, and they show no signs of slowing down. The hundred or so new faces at IMG Paris are nothing short of amazing, below are my four favorites of the moment.
Anna Gushina 5'9"
Stef 5'9"
Caite Frolova 5'11"
Truus Hooiveld 5'11.5"
With a development board that includes these 4, it is hard to choose who to open the Fall 2008 Prada show in February. Game on!

However, in recent months, Egle has hit her stride and is most definitely a supermodel on the rise.In recent months, Egle has shot for Italian Vogue, landed the cover of Wonderland as well as the french connection and Gianfranco Ferre campaigns.

It is Egle's incredible versatility and professionalism that can near guarantee the longevity of this young women's Carree. Expect lots of fun surprises from egle in the months to come.

Who's Next? Olivia

This Swedish belle is super fresh on the scene, when i stumbled across this Polaroid i couldn't help but think she is destined for great things.

Who's Next? Sebyll

This quirky redhead has that off-kilter elegance that is reminiscent of young Karen Elson. Sebyll is currently not placed in New York City but there is word that we will soon see Sebyll on DNA's board.
Time can only tell what is to happen with this statuesque Hungarian, but my guess is we won't have to wait too long.

Model Update: Claudia Seiler

I first introduced you to Brazilian Claudia Seiler back on September 25 when this stunner walked the prada runways exclusively. Claudia is from a small town in Brazil and was only modeling for two months before jetting off to Milan for that very exclusive.
Claudia made her editorial debut on the cover of this months dazed and confused and has since shot for V, I-D and French and Italian Vogue. The buzz surrounding Claudia with One Models is ringing in the ears of all the major fashion editors and casting directors.
Claudia will without a doubt be one of the most in demand girls for the fall 2008 season and another MAJOR cover is in the works as we speak. With those major editorials under her belt as well as the Spring 2008 Moschino campaign, Claudia is another example of Prada's star making power.

American Elle... Creating Supermodels?

Through all of my life as a fashion lover, i have warned others of the curse of American Elle. I believed that once an appearance has been made in the magazine, we would rarely see the model again. I was hungry to discover the reason why such a profitable magazine used such continues to use such minor faces. Today is the day that i eat my words.
Arguably the hottest newcomer of Spring 2008, Toni Garrn appeared in American Elle a full 6 months before opening the Calvin Klein show and scoring Calvin's Spring campaign.
Galliano favorite Ana Mihajlovic appeared in the magazine as her first major editorial back in 2005 and has since walked every major runway.
Girl of the moment Magdalena appeared in ELLE twice before landing the cover of Italian Vogue and closing Dior's dramatic Fall 2007 show. The most notable of my discoveries is the infamous Snejana, who shot with Gilles back in 2005 before appearing in all of the major Vogues, including two Italian vogue covers. Snejana has also appeared in campaigns for Lanvin, Dolce and Gabbana, and Prada to name a few.
Finally, One Model Management sweetheart Jenny Sweeney shot with Gilles Bensimon for ELLE before appearing on the cover of Italian vogue as well.
These five editorials make me wonder if ELLE is not a curse, but a blessing?
Could American Elle be the next Italian vogue of new faces? we'll have to wait and see...

It's in the DNA...

Shelby Keeton
DNA model management has dominated the career models for quite some time, but lately it seems that they are lacking somewhat in new faces. not for long! Meet Shelby and Skye, the two hottest blondes at DNA since Karolina Kurkova.

Skye Stracke
Skye and Shelby are destined for stardom, lets hope DNA keeps churning them out like this is the future. Stay tuned...

Who's Next? Julia Ohman

Julia is with Mode Models and happens to be one of the few girls in the V magazine/ supreme contest who has any real potential.
keep watch for Julia... winner or not she is going to be HUGE!

Gossip Girl... Creating Supermodels

As you know, the much loved gossip girl series by Cecily von Ziegesar has now been turned into a hit television show staring Blake Lively. The books are filled with glitz and glamour, movie stars and models, but it seems like the Gossip Girl books has taken to finding the freshest faces for the modeling industry.
Taylor Warren with New York models launched her career by starring on the cover of a Gossip Girl book and has since appeared in top magazines including Glamour and Elle. Taylor is a regular in her own Fashion spot forum and has an extremely loyal fan base. Her light blue eyes and near black hair keep you looking again and again. Taylor has only begun to hit her stride, next stop? Hollywood! Andi Muise was scouted by the same women who found Jessica Stam in a Tim Hortons coffee shop, signed with DNA and immediatly jetted off to new york. She has since walked the top runways in NYC and struuted her stuff on the infamous Victoria's Secret runway. Before all this? You guessed it, a Gossip Girl cover.
It seems that the secret to success is posing on the cover of a successful teen novel series. I wonder who'll they'll chose to be Blair next?

Who's next? Sian

I fell crazy in love with this new face in the summer while browsing though the website of new new york agency, muse. Now she is not online anymore. This either means that this 5'10 alien has decided not to model or there is something serious brewing for Sian, I think the latter.

Campain update... Return of the supers

This campaign season has crazy and unpredictable, you wouldn't know it by the campaigns but believe me! The main story is the return of the supermodel, with Stephanie Seymour, Angela Lindvall, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell striking a pose for the Spring 2008 Louis Vuitton Campaign (lets hope they work the nurse outfits). Claudia Schiffer has also shot the spring Chanel campaign with Karl Lagerfeld last week. Just as interesting as is the campaign switch of Gisele and Kate Moss with Kate shooting YSL (preview above) and Gisele shooting Versace. This season has also been the season of the Celebrity, Jennifer Connelly landed the main Balenciaga campaign and my personal favorite, Victoria Beckham got her hands on Marc Jacobs with Jeurgen Teller. There are, however a few newer girls making waves this campaign season, American Ali Stephens shocked us all by landing the Calvin Klein CK campaign shot by Fabien Baron. My favorite new girl, Karlie Kloss, landed a total of four campaigns including Pringle of Scotland and Nina Ricci.
Last but not least by ANY means is future supreme superstar Meghan Collison who landed no fewer than four campaigns including Prada and Belstaff (everything Meisel really). Shows us all that a bad show season really is not the end of the world.Stam landed Dior along with Kasia Strauss and Dolce and Gabbana with Lily donaldson and Gemma Ward. We are still waiting on Jil Sander however, my bet's on Canadian Taryn Davidson, but news on the street is it is a brand new, unseen face! we'll have to wait and see...
