Who's Next? Sebyll

This quirky redhead has that off-kilter elegance that is reminiscent of young Karen Elson. Sebyll is currently not placed in New York City but there is word that we will soon see Sebyll on DNA's board.
Time can only tell what is to happen with this statuesque Hungarian, but my guess is we won't have to wait too long.

Model Update: Claudia Seiler

I first introduced you to Brazilian Claudia Seiler back on September 25 when this stunner walked the prada runways exclusively. Claudia is from a small town in Brazil and was only modeling for two months before jetting off to Milan for that very exclusive.
Claudia made her editorial debut on the cover of this months dazed and confused and has since shot for V, I-D and French and Italian Vogue. The buzz surrounding Claudia with One Models is ringing in the ears of all the major fashion editors and casting directors.
Claudia will without a doubt be one of the most in demand girls for the fall 2008 season and another MAJOR cover is in the works as we speak. With those major editorials under her belt as well as the Spring 2008 Moschino campaign, Claudia is another example of Prada's star making power.

American Elle... Creating Supermodels?

Through all of my life as a fashion lover, i have warned others of the curse of American Elle. I believed that once an appearance has been made in the magazine, we would rarely see the model again. I was hungry to discover the reason why such a profitable magazine used such continues to use such minor faces. Today is the day that i eat my words.
Arguably the hottest newcomer of Spring 2008, Toni Garrn appeared in American Elle a full 6 months before opening the Calvin Klein show and scoring Calvin's Spring campaign.
Galliano favorite Ana Mihajlovic appeared in the magazine as her first major editorial back in 2005 and has since walked every major runway.
Girl of the moment Magdalena appeared in ELLE twice before landing the cover of Italian Vogue and closing Dior's dramatic Fall 2007 show. The most notable of my discoveries is the infamous Snejana, who shot with Gilles back in 2005 before appearing in all of the major Vogues, including two Italian vogue covers. Snejana has also appeared in campaigns for Lanvin, Dolce and Gabbana, and Prada to name a few.
Finally, One Model Management sweetheart Jenny Sweeney shot with Gilles Bensimon for ELLE before appearing on the cover of Italian vogue as well.
These five editorials make me wonder if ELLE is not a curse, but a blessing?
Could American Elle be the next Italian vogue of new faces? we'll have to wait and see...

It's in the DNA...

Shelby Keeton
DNA model management has dominated the career models for quite some time, but lately it seems that they are lacking somewhat in new faces. not for long! Meet Shelby and Skye, the two hottest blondes at DNA since Karolina Kurkova.

Skye Stracke
Skye and Shelby are destined for stardom, lets hope DNA keeps churning them out like this is the future. Stay tuned...

Who's Next? Julia Ohman

Julia is with Mode Models and happens to be one of the few girls in the V magazine/ supreme contest who has any real potential.
keep watch for Julia... winner or not she is going to be HUGE!

Gossip Girl... Creating Supermodels

As you know, the much loved gossip girl series by Cecily von Ziegesar has now been turned into a hit television show staring Blake Lively. The books are filled with glitz and glamour, movie stars and models, but it seems like the Gossip Girl books has taken to finding the freshest faces for the modeling industry.
Taylor Warren with New York models launched her career by starring on the cover of a Gossip Girl book and has since appeared in top magazines including Glamour and Elle. Taylor is a regular in her own Fashion spot forum and has an extremely loyal fan base. Her light blue eyes and near black hair keep you looking again and again. Taylor has only begun to hit her stride, next stop? Hollywood! Andi Muise was scouted by the same women who found Jessica Stam in a Tim Hortons coffee shop, signed with DNA and immediatly jetted off to new york. She has since walked the top runways in NYC and struuted her stuff on the infamous Victoria's Secret runway. Before all this? You guessed it, a Gossip Girl cover.
It seems that the secret to success is posing on the cover of a successful teen novel series. I wonder who'll they'll chose to be Blair next?

Who's next? Sian

I fell crazy in love with this new face in the summer while browsing though the website of new new york agency, muse. Now she is not online anymore. This either means that this 5'10 alien has decided not to model or there is something serious brewing for Sian, I think the latter.

Campain update... Return of the supers

This campaign season has crazy and unpredictable, you wouldn't know it by the campaigns but believe me! The main story is the return of the supermodel, with Stephanie Seymour, Angela Lindvall, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell striking a pose for the Spring 2008 Louis Vuitton Campaign (lets hope they work the nurse outfits). Claudia Schiffer has also shot the spring Chanel campaign with Karl Lagerfeld last week. Just as interesting as is the campaign switch of Gisele and Kate Moss with Kate shooting YSL (preview above) and Gisele shooting Versace. This season has also been the season of the Celebrity, Jennifer Connelly landed the main Balenciaga campaign and my personal favorite, Victoria Beckham got her hands on Marc Jacobs with Jeurgen Teller. There are, however a few newer girls making waves this campaign season, American Ali Stephens shocked us all by landing the Calvin Klein CK campaign shot by Fabien Baron. My favorite new girl, Karlie Kloss, landed a total of four campaigns including Pringle of Scotland and Nina Ricci.
Last but not least by ANY means is future supreme superstar Meghan Collison who landed no fewer than four campaigns including Prada and Belstaff (everything Meisel really). Shows us all that a bad show season really is not the end of the world.Stam landed Dior along with Kasia Strauss and Dolce and Gabbana with Lily donaldson and Gemma Ward. We are still waiting on Jil Sander however, my bet's on Canadian Taryn Davidson, but news on the street is it is a brand new, unseen face! we'll have to wait and see...

James Kaliardos can sure rock a halloween party!

Remember last year when make-up artist James Kaliardos dressed up as an impeccible Karl Lagerfeld (much MUCH better then this years terrible attempt by Roberto Cavalli)? Well this week was the V magazine halloween party, co-hosted by Gemma ward, and James pulled out all the stops as well as the self tanner once again to pull off a near perfect Donatella Versace.
(yes, that is a real Versace dress!)
I hope that this Halloween trend of his will continue on for the years to comeand maybe next year Alber Elbaz?

Wild about witchcraft

The new cover of the much anticipated V 50 dropped today on models.com. the issue stars Raquel Zimmerman on the cover as well as in a 50 page edit within the issue. The main theme of the cover and story is witchcraft. it is shot by David Sims and looks incredibly promising. and great for Raquel! I've noticed the trend towards witchcraft in the past couple of months following Alexander McQueen's critically panned witchcraft themed fall 2007 collection.
It is amazing how everyone can "hate" the show so much yet somehow find it so inspiring. There have already been 6 or more witch themed editorials in the magazines this fall, below are two of my favorites:Yana K from in this month's I-D.
The amazing Lily Donaldson in September's French Vogue.
Abra-Cadabara!
