When Sigrid Agren closed Prada's Resort 2008 a few months ago, we new it was made. With the poise and runway presence of a seasoned professional, Sigrid was a must book for the season. Walking a remarkable 51 shows, opening 7 and closing Prada, she easily had one of the strongest runway debuts of the season. Since then, Sigrid has been picked up for the much-anticipated Prada campaign. This french stunner is going to be a staple show girl for years to come as well as a valued editorial force. Girls like this don't come by every day.

Curious Shelby Coleman

IMG's Shelby Coleman is one of the most interesting faces I've seen in recent months. It won't be long before the rest of the industry picks up on her intriguing beauty. And with French Revue de la Modes and Giambattista Valli already on her side, It's only a matter of time...

The Magnificent 10... Spring 2009... Ymre

4. Ymre... One

Prada's choices in models are amongst the most influential in the industry. This season, they couldn't of made their choice of One's Ymre Stiekema any clearer than by placing her solo in their resort campaign, the only new model to appear there since fall 2005. Opening the show for Spring 2009 made it even clearer that Ymre was soon to be legend and a follow up spot in their Spring 2009 Campaign solidified her status. The editorial options are piling up and Ymre looks like she's here to stay.

5. Yulia... Women

Women's Yulia Kharlapanova is a star. I noticed her back in March and Yulia did not disappoint for Spring 2009. Booking every show that mattered this season, Lanvin, Jil Sander, Gucci, Rodarte, Miu Miu and Closing Prada just to name a few, Yulia seems like she's been doing this for decades. The International law student has already booked some major editorials and Campaigns including Moschino and D&G, and despite a devastating Prada tumble, Yulia is here to stay. This leggy Russian is on the rise, and is easily one of the seasons strongest faces.

6. Imogen... Next

Imogen not only has one of the most unique names in the industry currently, but she also has an incredibly effervescent prescience. First marc by Marc and Rodarte, next Prada, Mcqueen and Miu Miu. Imogen is here to stay. This is not the typical model success story however, Imogen switched agencies post season despite her success at the time. We are curious to see what piles up for Imogen as her star status increases... stay tuned. This Imogen will not get lost in the heap.

7. Myf... Next

With a name that is so close to Myth, the skeptics were out in full force. Next's Myf Shepherd proved them all wrong and more as the small featured Aussie teen conquered nearly every runways that mattered for Spring 2009. Marc Jacobs, Missoni, Jil Sander, Gucci and Prada all found refuge in Myf and the legend was born. Major, Magnificent, Majestic... Myf.

V have a Winner!

Meet 5'10" Canadian Addison Gill, the new winner of the V Magazine/ Supreme model search. A year in the making, it looks like they came out of this search with a serious star. Keep watch for this one, she's sure to be huge.

8. Sophie... IMG

IMG's strongest contender for new face this season is the ultra leggy Sophie Srej. If history proves right, this girls show start is the perfect recipe for modeling longevity and success. One part Calvin exclusive, a spoonful of Prada shortly followed by a dash of Chloe and Marni makes Sophie a shoe in on any list. Sophie has shot V magazine, Numero and Italian Vogue in recent months and believe me, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned as her star keeps rising and we all find ourselves in Sophie's wake.

Who's Next? Katty

Every season, there is one girl that creates a kind of pre-season buzz that leaves casting directors waiting with baited breath until they can book the girl. This season, that girl is Katty Ukhanova from New York Models. We are sure she's going to be everywhere in February, Stay tuned.

9. Nimue... Women

Nimue Smit is young, yes, but how many models can say that they've landed the Prada/ Miu Miu exclusive and opened the latter? Nimue is from the Netherlands and it has been non-stop editorial for Women's newest face. That's not all though, with the Prada Spring 2009 campaign being fronted by multiple models for the first time in years, Nimue is a very strong contender. We expect big things from Miss Smit, keep both eyes peeled.

Just a Thought... Aussies at Next

Is it just me or does Next New York have a major Australian break out nearly every season? First Alexandra Agoston, then Catherine Mcneil, Abbey Lee, and now Myf Shepherd and Sarah Stephens. Makes you wonder who's next at Next?

The Magnificent 10... Spring 2009... Katie

Spring/ Summer 2009 brought along close to twenty strong new faces, and some major fashion memories. Think Prada tumbles, Mcqueen fumbles, Agency crumbles and the meteoric rise of Arlenis Sosa Pena. It's been a season like no other, so you can imagine the difficulty i faced in choosing the top 10 NEW faces of the season. You'll be seeing my top 10 faces daily over the next few weeks so stay tuned to see who rises to the top. This season was epic.

10. Katie... Next

Katie Fogarty had a slow start in New York, but it didn't take long for casting dynamo Russell Marsh to catch on the this American's classic, angular beauty. Katie walked exclusively for Prada in Milan and despite tripping in the impossible shoes (even runway veteran Stam took a tumble), Katie left the fashion world buzzing. Look for this 5'10" St. Louis native in some major magazines over the next few months. It's a Next world, we're just lucky to live in it.

Anya Breaks Out

It is rare that New York breaks a major star. But this season is definitely an exception. Anya Kazakova is just that, major. This is the kind of girl that will last much longer than a season and will soon join the exclusive runway and editorial army that rules the shows right now. Marilyn's latest star came fresh off the plane from Russia and hit Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc, Jill Stuart, Rad Hourani, Philosophy, Doo.Ri, Philip Lim and did i mention that she opened Calvin Klein? Her angular cheekbones and remarkable body made her a must have for every casting director in the big apple. Just you wait until Anya hits Europe as she's already bringing in some incredible options. This is a true star, in every sense of the word.

It's a Supreme Season

Evelina Mambetova

Evelina and Imogen are among the two strongest girls coming out of New york this season. Both hit Marc Jacobs and both hit Philip Lim and Vera Wang. It's truly a supreme season with these two under their belts and on their boards. Also with Darya's options brewing like they are abroad, just wait and see. When it comes to runway, Supreme's still untouchable.

Despite all the agency Drama, One has managed to stay Strong and land some of the most Major girls right now. From Aline to new girls like Kathleen and Selena, One's where it's at. This is Ymre, and she's going to be the single most important face in modeling for the next few months, especially for shows. Some may know why, but for those that don't you'll just have to trust me. Ymre is a big deal.

Who's Next? Meg

Love the harsh beauty of Meg. not much is known about this girl right now, but the minute these polaroids came across my inbox i had to have her as Who's Next. This super cool girl is going to be MAJOR!

Katrin is Killing it!

German Katrin Thormann is having one of the most intriguing starts I've ever seen in modeling. Before even being put on her agency's website or stepping on a single runway, she's on the cover of Dazed and Confused. With Women in Milan and Premier in London, Katrin is definitely one to keep your eye on for Spring 09, to think it's only a few weeks away...
The stunning editorial that accompanies this cover was the selling point for me, as well as seeing her on the runway in Berlin a few weeks ago. Where has Katrin been all my life? It will be very interested to see how this 5'11" angular stunner breaks into the runway world, I'm thinking Calvin... Only time will tell, stay tuned.

My fondness for models named Johanna is no secret, but this girl still is one. with haunting eyes and a truly unique face, this Johanna is here to stay. Let's see if she lands one of the coveted exclusives for Spring 09. I'm dreaming of Johanna...

Who's Next? Pernille

love, Love, LOVE Pernille! IMG's hottest new face is like Tayla Collins with a body! Pernille has serious star power, and at 5'11.5" she's going to kill it on the runways for spring 09. AMAZING!

Wanessa is it?

Wanessa is one of the two breaking faces looking strong for Spring 2009 from Next (the other, Sarah Stephens, will be featured tomorrow). Wanessa doesn't look like anyone else modeling right now, with her wide set eyes and full lips, this 5'10" stunner from Sao Paolo is ready to take on the fashion world.

Already confirmed for New York Fashion week, we can guarantee that following her recent hat story in I-D, Wanessa is ready to leave her mark. Watch out...

Who's next? Irina and Kathleen

One Model Management is showing to be a very strong force in the industry this season. With the surprising break made by Aline last season, the small agency has shown that they can make a serious career. Irina and Kathleen are the two most promising faces from the agency right this minute, and Sonny is nothing short of a Polaroid Genius!

The Spring 2009 season is going to be incredible for One. Watch out!

Jessica Cline from Elite has instantly hit "it" girl status. She's debatably the most buzzed about new girl in the industry along with Arlenis.
After landing the Prada resort show last week, Jessica has launched herself onto every body's radar. elite has found another one.
Rumored to be opening the labels' spring 2009 collection in Milan. Jessica's instant launch proves that no matter the season, Prada still holds the power. Long story short, this girl is

the real deal.

Who's Next? Sigrid and Myf

16 year old Sigrid is with New York Models and just closed the Prada resort show. Her refined beauty makes her a clear standout for Couture as well as the Spring 2009 shows.
Australian beauty Myf was also in the Prada show, this one's with Next and is on her way to becoming a major star. Stay tuned for more on the both of them. remember the names, they're hard to forget.

Gaga over Gierdre

Giedre is another dark horse not having an especially strong showing in the Fall 2008 shows but landing many a major campaign and editorial.
In the past few months Gierdre has been seen in French, Muse, Flair, Mixte and a huge only girl story in this months Italian Vogue.
Gierdre has also landed campaigns for Paul Smith, Aquascutum, Preen, French Connection, DKNY and Blugirl. New York Models has turned this girl out this season. Amazing! I can guarantee that she's going to be a big focus for Spring 09. Keep watch...
