Last night, the Costume Institute hosted it's annual Gala and the fashion was out in full force. alongside many safe choices there were ten or so standouts ranging from runway looks to incredible Haute Couture creations. Here are my favorites...

All About Alina

Part old news, part new buzz, i feel now is the time to introduce you to Alina. Alina is exciting because she came out of nowhere to walk some of the understated cool shows in London and surprisingly land on the Marni runway last season.

Interestingly enough, Marni is beginning to prove as one of the most influential runways, launching many a star years before others catch on. Alina was places solely with Storm at the time, but since then, there has been an exciting new development.

Supreme, Alina has now joined the most exclusive modeling family in New York. Keep watch for this interesting beauty, next season, she'll creep her way in to the hottest slots on the runways. Mark my words.

Who's Next? Kim Mcullough

How much do you love Kim Mccullough? the Newest face at IMG New York is also from mode models in Edmonton and she is nothing short of amazing.
Reminiscent of a mythical wood nymph, Kim is going to be EVERYWHERE. Absolutely amazing.

Her name is Nicole

Who's cooler than Nicole Clulee? Nicole is Trumps latest find, and what i find she is! the 5'9" breathtaking beauty is one of my choices for next season. She'll be EVERYWHERE!
That skin, those lips, THAT HAIR! Who could say no to Nicole?

Georgie's Gorgeous

Muse New York has never had a star, but that's all about to change. Meet Georgie, 2005's Miss Africa and one of the hottest faces right now. I am living for Georgie.
Georgie had a short but sweet Fall 2008 season as it was cut off by a medical problem with one of her amazing eyes. But the girl still booked shows! Georgie walked for many b-rate shows due to the infection but her moment was in the form of Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton, being one of only a few black girls in both.
Georgie has got some serious editorial mileage under her belt already, being seen in Interview, Russian Vogue and New York Times. She's also landed the Moschino Campaign and a MAJOR story in a revolutionary magazine issue. Can't say much right now but can anyone say All Black Italian Vogue? Amazing...

Who's Next? Kathleen

Found only days before being handpicked to walk exclusively for Rad Hourani in New York, One Models' Kathleen Ryan is a Brooklyn native with an ever-so-intriguing androgynous look. This one's going to be a big star. She's got the city buzzing. Keep an eye on her.

Supreme Re-Joice's

Meet the newest supreme girl, Joice. Friends with another new supreme starlet, Martha Streck, Joice is set to conquer the world.
The 5'10" Brazilian's soft features and entrancing eyes are already in demand as people want to find out more on Joice Maria. I hope to as well, but once the storm clears, we'll have to see where Joice lands.

The Perfect Pocsik

Kelsey Pocsik is from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. And this 5'10" breathtaking beauty is my new favorite model at Mode. This dark haired, mysterious beauty is going to make a serious impact on the industry.

Looking like she stole the best bits from each Irina (K and L), Kelsey is undoubtedly the next big thing. A few weeks in the industry and she's already walked her first fashion show. Kelsey rocked Mode's charity event Bella last Saturday. Keep watch for this one, she's going far far far!

Who's Next? Justyna

We still don't know her last name, but Marilyn's mysterious Justyna is about to have her big break. Justyna was shot by Bruce Weber for Abercrombie and the photographer liked her so much that he launched her into being shot for Italian Vogue and V magazine. Not a bad start for the 5'11" Canadian. Stay tuned as Justyna explodes onto the modeling scene.

It's still in the DNA...

DNA models has been the one of the 2 leading women's boards for the last couple of years. Exactly how influential is the agency? DNA has managed to break at least one new major star every season as well as the represent the strongest career models in the Industry. This agency knows how to make a model, not a fad. Doutzen, Raquel, Agnyess, Natalia V, Karolina, Karen and Linda are all part of the remarkable agency. DNA has recently added 3 new and very exciting faces to it's ever-so-exclusive women's board. Meet the three most likely to succeed.

A face to remember, Alex

A false alarm in the height area caused me to overlook this absolute beauty as a top contender in the industry, but now that i hear she's about 5'9", i am rejoicing. Don't want to call it this early, but would we have our Prada opener already? only time can tell....

Who's Next? Anna K

Those eyes, that neck, the bone structure. What's not to love? No New York agency yet, but it's only a matter of time. Keep watch...

Dodo

Oh My God, How much do you love Dominika (Dodo)? I have not seen a face brimming with this much potential since Sasha first came on the scene 4 years ago.
No New York agency yet, but it won't be long before this 5'10" breathtaking beauty is picked up by one of the tops. I am dumbfounded by this one, she's simply remarkable. Dodo is far from the moronic bird that shares her name, she's simply brilliant. Keep both eyes on this one, she's going to be gigantic.

What the Bock?

I never like to label girls as commercial, but Kate bock is commercial. This 5'11" perfect beauty is well on her way to following the commercial footsteps of Alessandra Ambrosia, Andi Muise and Adriana Lima, three girls with little to no high fashion success but amongst the richest models in the world. There is big money in being commercial and if you got it, flaunt it.

The Vancouver, Canada native was seen slightly on the runways in New york, the highlight being two looks in the fall 2008 Oscar De La Renta show, but where you will see Miss Bock is in your weekly magazines. Garnier Fructis, Herbal Essences, Lise Watier and Mac & Jac and all among the major circulation campaigns that this 18 year old has landed. You may not wake up tomorrow morning and find Kate on the cover of Italian Vogue, but she'll do just fine.

Sensationally Sam Ypma

My love for Mode Model Samantha Ypma is infinite. She has one of those amazingly angular faces that you come across once in a life time. The cats eyes, ivory skin and flaming red hair seem to be a combination of the gods. Someone definitely did something right with this one.Sam is with New York models and is almost ready to hit the international fashion scene. This girl has a passion for the business that is so rare amongst models and that others will surely notice. At 5'9" and 34.5" hips, she's near perfection. Keep watch for Sam Ypma, in two years, she's going to be the name on every body's lips.

What's not to love about Suzie Bird? Fresh onto the legendary development board of Elite Paris, Suzie has a face to remember. This Bird is going to fly very high...

Radically Ryan

Another Newbie at DNA, Montreal's Ryan is a super exciting new face. Not entirely new however, as those in the know will recognise Ryan from Rad Hourani's last 2 look books.

Her Ethnic mix will stand out amongst the white washed runways right now. this girl with the perfect symmetry and the piercing blue eyes is going to be on everyone's must have list come Spring 2009, just you wait. If she's good enough for Rad, she's good enough for me!

Quintessentially Quirky Ilvie

Ilvie Wittek is now with DNA models, not at all an easy board to end up on. She is every bit deserving however as this 5'9" stunner possesses a quirky beauty so rare that it is exactly that look that made a certain Linda a star many years ago.

Despite nothing but tests right now, DNA knows what they are doing, and Ilvie is taking the slow and steady rate to success. Her name might not roll off your tongue just yet, but soon you may just find it in your daily banter. Stay tuned, Ilvie is a star!

Going All the Way

Way Model Management in Brazil is one of the best mother agencies in the world, rivaling Grace in Moscow, Ten in Sao Paolo and Mode in Canada. Way has discovered stars like Caroline Trentini, Cintia dicker, Alessandra Ambrosia, Viviane Orth, Claudia Seiler and is the mother agency of last weeks favorite Alice Langeani. Way is not about to slow down however, with an amazingly interesting crop of new faces on the horizon. Here are a few of my favorites;

Who's that girl?!?! Natasha Belobrovik

Another great find from this years Ford supermodel search is finalist Natasha Belobrovik. This girl crept up in the New York show season and landed some of the biggest shows for models in the city. Natasha walked for Philosophy, Jill Stuart and Proenza Schouler alongside some serious industry veterans. this mysterious girl disappeared after New York, causing some of us to forget her strong showing. Some people have taken notice however, as Natasha has just been shot for Italian Vogue. It's the stealth girls that matter right now, keep watch.

Who's Next? Sima

This edgy Russian beauty just signed with the incredible development board of IMG Paris and walked for Zucca Fall 2008 in that city. At 5'10", this photogenic stunner is on her way up...

On the subject of Alice....

Not Australian sensation Alice Burdeu, but just as exciting, this is Alice Langeani from 1 models. Alice is all the buzz right now, she is everywhere, on every website, on every casting directors lips, everywhere. What does all this buzz amount to? Lord knows, but i have a feeling we will find out withing the next few weeks.
This 5'9" Brilliant Brazilian Brunette has already appeared in L'Officiel Russia, and i hear that is just the beginning of things. So amazing. I will be sure to keep you updated on my new favorite girl as she explodes throughout the industry. Stay tuned!

Anna J, Comeback Kid

Anna J (her last name is too hard) from next is another case of the Fall 2008 Paris comeback. First hitting the scene in 2003 with campaigns from ranging from BCBG to Moschino and runways from Prada to Yves St Laurent.
Anna was also often seen in the pages of Italian Vogue in her prime and became a fast favorite of designers alike. This season, Anna shocked us all by showing up in the Donna Karan fall 2008 show in New York. Such a well known face, disappears for 3 years then is back without anyone noticing, how did this happen?
Anna then went on to miss Milan and London, two city's that had previously been so fond of this Pole with the perfect features, only to hit Paris by storm. Anna walked for Balenciaga, Chanel, McCartney, Vuitton, Viktor & Rolf and Givenchy. I'm all about the second coming of Anna J!

Who's Next? Tilda

The new girl at IMG, Tilda is just what we need. I know every one's on New Face overload right now, but this girls worth taking a second look. Fabulous, no?
