What's with Lindsey Wixson?

Upon my return to The Clotheshorse, I felt it very needed to discuss the instant but unlikely phenom that is Marilyn's Lindsey Wixson. Months ago, despite being rejected by nearly every agency in New York, the rumour began to spread that Miss Wixson had booked Italian Vogue with Steven Meisel. The story never arrived, but at that instant people began to wonder, who is this girl with the lanky body and bee-stung lips, and should they take a second glance?
It was announced then that Lindsey, who was found by Vision LA, was now with Marilyns in New York. From then, it was a avalanche of prestigious bookings that ended in a European Prada/Miu Miu exclusive and landing the elusive campaign for Miu Miu by Mert and Marcus.

With today's arrival of the Campaign, we couldn't be more impressed, and i find it to be a welcome relief amongst the safe choices and boring ideas of the spring 2010 season. We don't feel Lindsey will be the next Daria or Gemma, but we think for now, she's current and she's ready to do what she can to leave her mark on the fleeting world of high fashion models
Keep both your eyes on this gorgeous American's unique face. Girls like this don't come around daily...

Who's that girl?!?! Natasha Belobrovik

Another great find from this years Ford supermodel search is finalist Natasha Belobrovik. This girl crept up in the New York show season and landed some of the biggest shows for models in the city. Natasha walked for Philosophy, Jill Stuart and Proenza Schouler alongside some serious industry veterans. this mysterious girl disappeared after New York, causing some of us to forget her strong showing. Some people have taken notice however, as Natasha has just been shot for Italian Vogue. It's the stealth girls that matter right now, keep watch.

Who's that Girl!?!?! Jennifer Messelier

Ford's 5'11 brunette Jennifer Messelier is not an unknown, yet to most she was the only face with no name at Miu Miu fall 2008.  Jennifer had already walked Jil Sander last season as well as a few select shows this season, but it was her Miu Miu appearance that threw us all off guard.

The odd thing is that Jennifer has already been seen in a a major editorial, you can see her in February's Italian Vogue.  So what makes her such a mystery?  We'll have to see, but word is that this breathtaking beauty has some serious things brewing right now, serious serious things.

Who's That Girl?!?! Kelli Lumi

Kelli Lumi with Major Models had a Major modeling moment today. Previously unseen except for some minor Ny and London shows, Kelli opened Nina Ricci mere hours ago.
The Ricci show is among the most important in Paris for models, as it often discovers next seasons stars right at the end of the week. Kelli has an amazing presence and is most likely one of those stars for next season. Keep watch for this leggy blonde, she's about to have a moment.

Who's that Girl?!?! Stephanie Carta

Balenciaga pre-fall 2008, models included Egle, Daiane and the unknown face of Stephanie Carta. Yet another Aussie with Next, Stephanie has quickly become a favorite of Balenciaga as this is the only place we have seen the 5'11" brunette since that show months ago.Since then, not a single editorial nor a runway show, Stephanie showed up again at the Balenciaga show this morning. Could this be a very exclusive partnership, are there hidden politics? Or, god forbid, could it be that the infamous brand just really loves this beautiful face? We'll have to wait and see, but once Balenciaga releases Stephanie from its jaws, she's bound to be everywhere. stay tuned...

Who's That Girl?!! Dasha Bichevina

It's all about exclusivity this season, Calvin only had one entirely new girl this season and now Jil Sander has followed suit. Russian Dasha Bichevina was introduced to the world today as she hit the Jil Sander Fall 2008 collection as the only brand new and previously unseen girl.
With the slew of new faces that Prada drops each season, the spots for exciting new faces are becoming much fewer and far between. It is the Mystery of certain girls that cause us to take that second look, i.e. Toni Garrn. Lets hope that Dasha's round face and beautiful eyes can keep others interested for many years to come.
